The Esports World Cup is a tournament series that was announced in late 2023, building off the previously established Gamer 8 series. League of Legends was announced to be part of the EWC line-up for 3 years on February 10, 2025. It was originally planned to be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but was moved to Paris with a prize pool of $2,000,000.
