Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick gave a comment on the company's approach to releasing games on different platforms. Of course, the main topic is Grand Theft Auto VI. Zelnick acknowledged that due to the delay of the PC release of GTA 6, the company will not earn about 40% of its revenue—this is the usual amount generated by the PC release. Nevertheless, the company is determined not to release the game simultaneously on all platforms.
The GTA series has indeed followed this model: the PC release was delayed, partly due to Rockstar's complex relationship with the modding community. The decision to hold back the PC release is not influenced by the declining sales of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. GTA 6, in this regard, will not be a combo breaker.
If we assume that GTA 6 will still be released in the fall of 2025, PC players will likely have to wait until 2026 to experience the game. The release of GTA 6 carries high expectations not only for Take-Two Interactive. The first teaser of the game broke several YouTube records. The gaming industry is hoping that the game will break the psychological $100 price barrier, which, in turn, could positively impact other companies and studios.
