The League of Legends World Championship is the biggest event in the League of Legends esports calendar, bringing together the best teams from around the world to compete for the title of world champion. In 2023, the championship returns with even more excitement, as teams vie for the Summoner's Cup and a share of the multi-million dollar prize pool. As always, the teams competing in the League of Legends World Championship will be some of the best in the world. Each team will have earned its spot through regional competitions and other tournaments, and they will be hungry for victory. From the dominant Korean teams to the rising stars from Europe and North America, every team will have its own unique playstyle and strategies to try and take down its opponents.

Tournament Format

Stage 1 will be played in GSL format and all matches are in a best-of-three format, the winning teams of each group will advance to the qualifiers which will be played in a best-of-five series.

Stage 2 will be played in a Swiss format, the first 3 rounds are played in a best-of-one series while the qualification and elimination rounds are played in a best-of-three series.

Stage 3 will be played in a single-elimination format and all matches are played in a best-of-five series.
