Contra III: The Alien Wars, released in Japan as Contra Spirits and in PAL regions as Super Probotector: Alien Rebels, is a 1992 run and gun video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed and published by Konami. It is the third console iteration of the Contra series, following the original Contra (1987) and Super C (1988) for the NES. Nintendo re-released Contra III: The Alien Wars in the United States in September 2017 as part of the company's Super NES Classic Edition.
