It is LEC Summer time, and this year League of Legends European Championship welcomes top 10 teams of the region to compete in group and playoff stages for qualification to the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, which is set to take place in the U.S. later this year.
The format is similar to the Spring Split, with round robin best-of-1 series, as well as the regular split.
Championship points are distributed in this way:
120 pts — 1st place;
90 pts — runner-up;
70 pts — 3rd place;
50 pts — 4th place;
30 pts — 5th place;
20 pts — 6th place.
The prize pool of the event is nearly $212,000. The matches are played in front of a live audience in League European Championship Studio in Berlin, Germany.
Last Split the winner of the tournament was G2: will they be able to maintain their form, or will others stop the Samurais earlier this time? The event starting from June 17 will tell it all.
