System Requirements

As of now, we can confidently list the system requirements for the upcoming adventure in the world of bugs.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E5200
  • Memory: 4 GB
  • Graphics: GeForce 9800GTX+ (1GB)
  • DirectX: Version 10
  • Free Disk Space: 9 GB

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5
  • Memory: 8 GB
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 560+ (1GB)
  • Free Disk Space: 9 GB

In our opinion, these are very reasonable requirements for 2025. So, almost any gamer should be able to play Silksong on PC. But what about consoles?

Will Hollow Knight Silksong Be Released on Consoles

There are definitely reasons for optimism. For example, PlayStation's official account confirmed back in 2022 that the game would be released on PS4 and PS5 platforms. That same year, at the "Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase", a trailer for Xbox One was shown, marking the title's release on Game Pass.

The only question mark remains with Nintendo. Some leaks suggest that the Switch 2 will be released in June-July 2025, so it's still unclear whether Silksong will launch on the second version of the console or the first.

Silksong: A Little About the Lore

The game will take place in the new kingdom of Pharloom. Hornet finds herself in completely new territories where, at first glance, nothing seems to threaten the inhabitants — bugs are doing fine, and the infection hasn’t spread here yet. However, things are not as simple as they seem. Something is happening in these lands, and Hornet will have to figure out what it is.

It is already known that she will face over 150 new enemies, even more astonishing locations, and new friends and companions. Unlike the nameless knight, Hornet has silk, which she can use to heal herself. While all the game mechanics can only be seen in the trailer, this new adventure will introduce a lot of new elements, including techniques and spells. Some fans are also hoping for the Bone Forest — a location that was cut from the main game.

Latest Leaks About Silksong

William Pellen, one of the members of Team Cherry, stoked the fire with a mysterious post on his page on x.com at the beginning of 2025: "Something big is coming. Keep your eyes closed tomorrow". It is not confirmed whether this account actually belongs to him, but fans suspect that it does.

Fans immediately linked the post to Silksong and began building theories around the game and its release date. After a while, one of the famous Hollow Knight speedrunners, fireb0rn, cleared up the misunderstanding by stating that Leth (another member of Team Cherry) had contacted him and confirmed that the post had nothing to do with the game. This once again fueled frustration among fans of the franchise who have been waiting for the game for over 6 years.

It is worth reminding that the title was originally scheduled for release in 2023, but unfortunately, the release was postponed indefinitely. Despite this, the existence of game pages on official portals and the absence of news about the halting of development provides hope that the title will eventually be released.

A sense of cautious optimism is also provided by the official account of developer Matthew Griffin. His response to a fan's request: “Yes, the game is real, progressing and will release. <3” gave many fans hope that the game is still in active development.
