If you're lonely... If there's no one to show off your new gear and rare loot to... We know how to help! Get a pet in Path of Exile 2, and your life will never be the same! You'll do everything you normally do, but always with the feeling of silent approval from your little (not so) cute companion.

Seriously though, pets in this game only serve a cosmetic role, meaning they’re completely useless, but fun, brighten up your adventures, and simply delight the eyes. In other words, just like in real life. Now that we've cleared that up, and if you absolutely need a pet, let's move on.

How to get a pet in Path of Exile 2

There are several ways, but not all of them are available to ordinary mortals, as they require monetary investments. One such way is to purchase Early Access Supporter Packs. Even if you’ve already bought the cheapest pack, there’s always an opportunity to purchase a new one or upgrade the old one. If pets are your main interest, aside from other bonuses, there are two most beneficial Supporter Packs:

  • Lord of Ogham. Gives two pets—Baby Crowbell Pet and Lord of Ogham Kiwi Pet;
  • King of the Faridun. Gives three pets—Baby Crowbell Pet, Lord of Ogham Kiwi Pet, and King of the Faridun Kiwi Pet.

Other packs give only one pet as part of the bonuses.

Another way is to buy or gift a friend two subscriptions of any type on Twitch. The important part is to make sure to link the accounts together. The only downside (aside from the fact that it requires spending money) is that these promotions are temporary, and you need to keep an eye on the news so you don’t miss them. When the game first launched, players could get the Chimera, but this opportunity hasn’t been repeated yet.

You can also check the Pets tab in the shop, where you can find pets for coins. They usually cost around 200-250 coins, which fits within the 300 coins you received if you bought the cheapest Early Access starter pack. However, be cautious with your desires! It's best to spend that donation currency on expanding your stash slots. Well, we did warn you

Transfer from Path of Exile 1

If you played or are playing the first Path of Exile and have pets there, you will be able to bring them into the sequel! No more leaving them at home and worrying about them—now they will always be by your side. However... this won’t happen today or tomorrow—the developers have promised to add this feature, but they haven’t specified a date. Well, it’s a logical decision from a commercial standpoint, though not the most pleasant one for players.

How to equip pets

Press "M" to open the window with your cosmetic items. After that, you just need to find the tab with pets and choose which one will accompany you on your monster-slaying adventures. Remember, you can only bring two creatures on your adventure at a time. By the way, you can also place them in your Hideout, where they will wander around waiting for your return. Isn’t it nice to come back after a journey and tough trials to a cozy home, where your beloved pets are waiting for you?

We’ve covered all the available ways to obtain pets in PoE2. We hope our article was helpful, and that you’ve been able to adopt a pet of your own.
