S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is already making waves around the world. The long-awaited shooter about the Exclusion Zone has hit the market and sold millions of copies. But for the average PC gamer to fully immerse themselves in the heart of Chernobyl, they first need to understand the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl system requirements.
Minimum System Requirements for Stalker 2
Minimum settings are sufficient for playing at 30 FPS in 1080p. At first glance, they are quite reasonable for 2024. However, GSC Game World clarified that to achieve the stated performance at minimum settings, you'll need to use TSR or similar technology, and for other parameters—DLSS, FSR, XeSS, or TSR.
The game is built on the Unreal Engine 5, which doesn't spare even top-tier systems. The Lumen ray-tracing technology is usually processed at the hardware level by the graphics processor. But in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, rays are processed software-wise using compute shaders.
An interesting method, but it costs performance.
So, let's look at the PC specs needed for the bare minimum:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or Intel Core i7-7700K
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 580 8 GB, Intel Arc A750, or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB
- RAM: 16 GB
- Disk Space: 160 GB
Recommended System Requirements for Stalker 2
With these settings, you can boost Stalker 2 performance and enjoy the coveted 60 frames per second.
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-9700K
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super, or RTX 4060
- RAM: 16 GB
- Disk Space: 160 GB
Without a good PC, it's definitely not worth venturing into the Exclusion Zone yet, even if the game doesn't seem too demanding. However, how well optimized it is remains to be seen.
