On September 17, an update for GTA V on PC was released, which introduced the third-party anti-cheat software BattlEye to the online mode. The update is around 1 GB in size, and after downloading it, BattlEye will begin installation. Players have noted that the anti-cheat can be disabled in the Rockstar launcher for single-player mode, so its addition shouldn't affect mods.

The third-party anti-cheat was added to GTA V nine years after the game's release on PC, during which players frequently complained about the abundance of cheaters in online modes.

However, this update brought another interesting news. A reliable insider and Rockstar games news source, known as Tez2, reported that Rockstar accidentally added metadata for a PC version of Red Dead Redemption to its launcher with today’s update. The insider also pointed out the likely existence of a future Steam page for a remastered version of the game.

Tez2 had previously mentioned a PC version of Red Dead Redemption back in May this year, when it was spotted in the code on Rockstar’s website. There’s a chance that Rockstar will make an official announcement soon.
