Warhorse Studios has officially launched Brushes With Death, the first major DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, earlier than originally scheduled. Although the expansion was expected to release during the summer, developers have opted for an earlier launch, surprising fans with not only the new content but also the arrival of update 1.3.

The DLC introduces a new protagonist — the enigmatic painter known as Master Wojta. Caught in a spiral of creative stagnation, he enlists the player's help to overcome his artistic block and produce a masterpiece worthy of fame. The new questline immerses players in an experience rich with mystery, inspiration, and the historical depth that defines the franchise.

Unlike a simple mission pack, Brushes With Death offers a full-fledged narrative experience that mirrors the best storytelling moments from the original game. Alongside the gripping plot, the DLC debuts a much-requested feature: shield customization. Through Master Wojta, players can now personalize their shields with different colors, patterns, and emblems.

These decorative options are not immediately available — they unlock progressively as players complete story missions, explore the world, and engage with key characters. As Warhorse has revealed, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set to receive two more expansions: Legacy of the Forge, set in Kutná Hora, and Mysteria Ecclesiae, which focuses on uncovering the secrets of the Sedlec Monastery.
