Ubisoft's recent financial reports have confirmed the impressive commercial success of Assassin's Creed Shadows. The company once again highlighted the outstanding performance of its flagship project.
As noted by CEO Yves Guillemot, the past fiscal year proved challenging for the studio amid intense competition in the gaming market. However, the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows became a landmark event, allowing Ubisoft to demonstrate stability and growth.
The new installment of the iconic franchise not only earned player acclaim but also surpassed Assassin's Creed Odyssey in key metrics, reinforcing the brand's resilience. The financial results are striking—projected net profit stands at €128 million.
"We were aware of the challenges but made strategically crucial decisions to strengthen the company's position. Shadows became a turning point, receiving glowing reviews from both series veterans and new audiences," Ubisoft emphasized.
According to leadership, the project has set new quality standards not only for the studio's future games but for the industry as a whole. The upgraded Anvil engine enabled the creation of an incredibly detailed game world with unprecedented visual fidelity.
Official data reveals that Shadows achieved the second-highest launch figures in franchise history, trailing only Valhalla. Moreover, the release significantly outperformed Odyssey in both sales volume and active player numbers.
As for Ubisoft's other key franchises, Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six maintain a stable monthly audience of around 30 million users, while Far Cry retains 20 million players.
