We continue to follow the storyline titled "How's Ubisoft Doing Today?" The French company is undergoing further restructuring, aimed to cut costs. The main victim of these efforts will be Ubisoft Leamington studio, formerly known as FreeStyleGames. This studio developed the music game DJ Hero and, after being acquired, worked on Far Cry 5, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws. However, this is the end of the road for it. Job cuts will also take place in other European studios. In total, the company plans to reduce 185 positions.

The restructuring program emerged under pressure from circumstances: last year, Ubisoft faced setbacks ranging from game failures to data breaches affecting users. As a result, the company found itself at risk of a hostile takeover, which could be averted either by investments from Tencent or the overwhelming success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. While the former is possible, because the Chinese corporation is looking to create a separate entity, the latter doesn't seem to be very likely.
