The next installment of the legendary Grand Theft Auto series won't arrive for another year, yet fan excitement has reached unprecedented heights. The new GTA 6 trailer amassed over 475 million views across various platforms in just 24 hours.
For comparison: the game's debut trailer, released in 2023, gathered a "mere" 93 million views in the same timeframe (despite being a YouTube exclusive that set the record as the platform's largest non-music video premiere at the time). According to Rockstar, the new trailer has become the undisputed record-holder for first-day views. To put this in perspective, the latest Deadpool movie trailer pulled in 365 million views in its first day, while The Fantastic Four reboot surpassed 200 million.
The hype has even boosted the soundtrack: "Hot Together", the Pointer Sisters' track featured in the trailer, exploded on Spotify with a staggering 182,000% surge in streams.
And all this happens a full year before release. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026—it's terrifying to imagine the frenzy that will erupt in the run-up to, and especially on, the game's release day.
