2017 League of Legends Professional League Summer is the second half of the 2018 season of LPL.

The summer split of 2018 is divided into three stages. A regular season that seeds into the playoffs at the end. The winner of the playoffs will be representing China in the World Championship together with the team with the most amount of circuit points and the winner of the third and final stage, the regional finals.

The league boasts a ¥3,500,000 (CNY) total prize pool and will be played across China as different teams will be based in different provinces and the Playoffs will be played in Shanghai.

Tournament Format

Regular season

All matches are best-of-three.

The teams are split into two groups of 6 and they each play out a double round robin within the groups.

In between the two round robins the teams will play a single round robin against the teams in the other group.

Top 4 out of each group qualify for the playoffs and the.

Playoffs

Single elimination bracket with the group winners seeded into the semis, the second place of each group in the quarters and the third place teams out of each group getting a 1 game lead in the first round.

All matches are best-of-five

Regional Finals

The regional finals hosts the teams with the most amount of circuit points that is not yet qualified for worlds in a single elimination gauntlet style bracket with Best-of-five matches. 

The winner of the bracket will be the third and final seed from China at the World Championship.
