Fortnite is a battle royale game, rich in character skins, including those that are highly sought after by players. But how can you get some of them for free? Let’s break it down.
Available Free Characters
Currently, only four new free characters are available. Let’s see how to get them.
Explorer Emily
The first free character is Emily. To get her, simply register on the Lego Insiders website and link your Epic Games account. After completing this step, the new hero will immediately appear in your inventory.

Trailblazer Tai
Another character in the list is more masculine. If in Lego, his hair was slicked back, here it’s slightly more relaxed. You can also notice his distinctive tattoos. Not just one, but on both arms. To get this hero, you just need to complete the Lego Fortnite challenge. Once you finish the requirements, Trailblazer Tai will be added to your collection.

Mr. Dappermint
Our next hero in the lineup looks like a sausage, but instead of a walking hotdog, it’s a mint lollipop. You can get him in the same way as Explorer Emily—by linking your account to the Lego Insiders site. If you’ve already received the previous two heroes, this one will also be in your inventory.

Vanguard Zadie
Another coveted skin from the last season—a character from the Lego Odyssey universe. To get it, you’ll need to put in some effort. The requirements are: reach level 50 by June 7, 9 AM ET. The key is to log into the game and accept the Vanguard Zadie challenge by May 6, 9 AM ET. If you miss this deadline, you won’t be able to obtain the skin.

Other Methods
In-Game Challenges and Events
Fortnite frequently holds in-game events, where participating grants you some rewards, including free new heroes. All you need to do is play the game and complete certain conditions.
Free Code Skins
Sometimes, Fortnite collaborates with various companies, and in exchange for supporting them via promo codes, they distribute a variety of useful prizes. These often include not only new weapons but also character skins. Isn’t it great to occasionally update your wardrobe? We think so too!
All you need to do is play and keep an eye on the developers' social media accounts, as codes are rare, and as of the writing of this article, none are active.
Battle Pass
We’ve covered all the free ways to get skins in Fortnite. Since they’re not too numerous, it makes sense to mention some of the most convenient and accessible methods. One such method is the Battle Pass.
By paying for it, you’ll not only receive exclusive rewards but also new heroes, as well as skins for other characters that were previously unavailable. For example, it is already known that in May, a character from the Star Wars universe will be available. However, to obtain it, you’ll need to spend a little from your wallet.

Fortnite Crew
Another in-game subscription, in exchange for which the game offers new skins every month. Unlike the regular Battle Pass, Fortnite Crew is an exclusive package that includes the Lego Pass, OG Pass, Music Pass, special items, 1000 V-Bucks each month, and the Battle Pass itself. The developers also give away new crew members to subscribers each month. For instance, in April, the charming Nyangelica was available.
