Battle Royale, strangely enough, can sometimes get a little boring. For added variety, in 2018, the developers introduced a creative mode where players could build almost anything they wanted. Naturally, one of the most popular options for new challenges turned out to be zombie battles.

In this article, we suggest checking out the best Fortnite zombie maps for fighting the walking dead.

Sunrise City

🔸 Code: 5780-2589-3510

We'll start our selection with one of the most famous maps in this mode. The concept is simple: defend against waves of zombies. Each subsequent attack by the horde is tougher than the previous one, and the main goal is to survive as long as possible.

Noteworthy features include a choice of only four types of weapons, but they can be upgraded, and new locations unlocked with the points earned. It's a great option for spending a couple of evenings with friends.

Infected

🔸 Code: 0157-2279-6109

The next map is inspired by the game mode of the same name from Call of Duty. The idea is exciting and genius: one player needs to infect the others so they join his team. Accordingly, the more infected there are, the harder it is to resist them. By the end of the match, tension and adrenaline run high for the survivors, as fighting off the infected becomes quite challenging since they are everywhere!

Additionally, there are coins scattered around the location that can be used to get a random item from mysterious boxes, ranging from a camouflage bush to a weapon. The map is perfect for long gaming sessions.

Shallow West

🔸 Code: 0389-9739-0449

The Wild West is a great setting for battling hordes of the undead. Sixteen players find themselves in a place inspired by saloons and cowboys. Their task is to shoot waves of zombies. As players progress, they unlock new segments of the level. The further they go, the cooler the guns, but also more enemies, leading up to the final showdown with the main boss.

Zombieland

🔸 Code: 9369-6922-8408

Zombieland is one of the most popular maps in this mode, and also one of the first. It has everything to keep players engaged: upgrades, various weapons, some of which can only be obtained under certain conditions, and different types of enemies. You can fight them solo, with friends, or with random players, up to 16 people.

I definitely recommend checking it out.

Zombie City: Bossfight

🔸 Code: 1301-9879-0360

The map’s name fully captures its main idea: players will have to fight zombies, collect coins, get new weapons, and face off against a boss.

The boss is the standout feature of the map. A huge monster appears every few minutes, and the better prepared the players are for the battle, the easier it will be for them.

A great option for group entertainment.

Outbreak Horror

🔸 Code: 5493-8228-2064

The next map is drastically different from the previous ones. Outbreak Horror is literally a game within a game! This map is designed for solo mode, where the player explores a gloomy police station while gradually uncovering the storyline.

The gameplay is in first-person, slow-paced, and significantly more deliberate compared to the original Fortnite.

If you're a fan of the Resident Evil series, you'll feel right at home here.

Zombie Maze

🔸 Code: 9300-2622-9913

Three teams enter the maze. Their goal is to score more points than their opponents. Simple yet satisfying, and most importantly, fun. You don’t need to shoot hordes of zombies here: there are only a few walking the confusing corridors, but they are so powerful that any encounter with them could be your last.

The main enemies are players from the opposing teams. They’re not standing still either, exploring the maze for valuable items that grant points. It’s an enjoyable map for a couple of hours, offering unique gameplay and new game situations.

Nightfall — Zombie Survival

🔸 Code: 8876-0278-7743

This map stands out with its excellent environment design. Neon signs and the streets of the small Nightfall district clearly draw inspiration from cyberpunk, and you can see the care the developers put into designing the location.

The gameplay here is classic Fortnite-style zombie survival. Waves of undead, upgrades, and various weapons that can be purchased from mystical boxes, along with level segments that can be unlocked with points. The gameplay is quite slow due to the tight spaces.

Thanks to its design and detailed environment, this map definitely deserves attention.

Z-Nite: The Factories

🔸 Code: 3303-8983-5104

This map sends players to an industrial zone where they must defend against incoming zombies. The main focus here is on cooperation because you can only survive the zombies attacking from all sides by working together.

To make battles more effective, there are shops for purchasing medkits and ammo. Points can also be used to unlock new level segments, adding mobility for the team. And with each new wave, the enemies grow stronger, so there's no shortage of adrenaline.

Arc of Retribution

🔸 Code: 0798-7985-2485

The last map in our selection will definitely appeal to fans of tough challenges. The goal is relatively simple: survive ten waves. However, with each subsequent attack, the horde becomes significantly stronger, forcing you to rely not only on powerful weapons but also on your wits.

There's also a leaderboard, where you can make it if you score high enough points. The design is also a standout feature: you'll have to shoot the walking dead in a stone maze with narrow passages, leaving little room for maneuvering.

The Fortnite community constantly creates new zombie maps, some of which may not have made our top list. If you have favorites among them, feel free to share them in the comments!
