We are less than two weeks before The International 2024 group stage, and Valve gave us a big Dota 2 update! It includes the new hero Ringmaster and TI Compendium.
First, let's talk about the Ringmaster. It is a ranged support that doesn't look like he is capable of dealing massive damage. Instead, he is great in disabling opponents as well as providing useful teamfight and escape tools for teammates. Impalement Arts is a great skill against tanky heroes, and Spotlight, the Shard ability, would be great against invisible heroes and Glimmer Cape. As usual, Valve also presented the lore of the character in a comic.
While Ringmaster will be the main topic within the community for quite some time as everyone will try to figure the optimal way to use it, there is also valuable news surrounding The International. Like last year, TI Compendium is focused only on the esports part. If we look at the rewards, we can see they are tournament-themed. The list includes special HUD, chat wheel phrases, teleport effects and a small nickel copy of Aegis of Champions.
Together with Compendium, talents for the event have been announced. As usual, you can have a look in the game client. Also, when you click on the photo of the talent, you will have the opportunity to support them by purchasing a special bundle. Teams participating in the event also got their bundles, which have three different tiers. 50% of all purchases will go to respective talents or teams.
The International 2024 group stage starts on September 4.
