Capcom held a short ten-minute presentation for Monster Hunter Wilds, showcasing a new trailer. The trailer focused on gameplay, featuring exploration of various locations both on mounts and on foot, as well as battles with giant monsters. There were also some cinematic scenes.
The most important part of the video were, of course, dates of an open beta. All platforms will take part in it, but PS Plus subscribers will have a three day early access. Here are the Monster Hunter Wilds beta dates:
- Early access beta: October 28-31
- Beta on all platforms: October 31 - November 3
As usual with such tests, developers are pursuing two different goals. The first one is an obvious stress test for many functions. During a short period of time some big problems may be uncovered, and developers will have time to fix them. The second goal is to give players a small taste of the game, so maybe some beta participants would buy the game afterwards. Towards that goal Capcom made one more interesting decision. As long as the player uses the same account for beta and to purchase the game, the character created during the beta will have the possibility to move on to the main game.
As a sweet little bonus, beta testers will receive a unique pendant and a set of items after the full launch of the game.
As for the story mode of Monster Hunter Wilds, beta testers will have an opportunity to watch the introductory cutscene and hunt for two monsters. These hunts can be done solo or in co-op with other players by using a signal flare during any quest. Crossplay between all platforms is also supported.
