It’s always great when a beloved game and its developers show mutual appreciation with their audience. Although Patch 7 was initially meant to be the final improvement of Baldur's Gate III, the developers went for an encore and decided to deliver a final gift. BG3 Patch 8 is planned for 2025, bringing some significant additions — including an impressive 12 new subclasses.

BG3 Patch 8 new subclasses

Larian Studios has prepared one new subclass for each existing class. Here is the list of upcoming options:

  • Bard – College of Glamour
  • Barbarian – Path of Giants
  • Cleric – Death Domain
  • Druid – Circle of Stars
  • Paladin – Oath of the Crown
  • Fighter – Arcane Archer
  • Monk – Drunken Master
  • Ranger – Swarmkeeper
  • Rogue – Swashbuckler
  • Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
  • Warlock – Hexblade
  • Wizard – Bladesinging

Larian want us to expect new abilities, and a plethora of visual and audio enhancements and novelties. Among other notable features are cross-play and a photo mode packed with numerous features and creative options. While it may not be as cinematic as those in Stellar Blade or Death Stranding, it’s expected to allow for plenty of unique and imaginative screenshots.

When will BG3 patch 8 come out? Once the tests in the early 2025 are successfully completed, players on all platforms will receive this final gift. After Patch 8, Larian will bid farewell to Baldur's Gate 3 and move on to work on their next projects.
