Fighting games are among the most challenging esports genres, and understanding the balance of games with dozens of fighters is even tougher. Luckily, the reigning Tekken world champion and one of the greatest players in history, Arslan Ash, has created an updated tier list for Tekken 8.

The Pakistani star divided the characters into five groups. In the S-tier, he placed the most meta-relevant fighters, including Nina, Feng, Yoshimitsu, Jin, and Dragunov. They are considered the best characters in Tekken 8 right now.

Let's also decypher other tiers: A+ tier means that heroes there are slightly weaker those in S-tier, but they still have all the power to shine. A-tier means that you must know your character exceptionally well to be competitive. The B-tier means that if you main the characters of this tier, you are in a slight disadvantage as these heroes lack something.

Interestingly, all the additional characters, Eddy, Lidia, and Heihachi, are placed in the B-tier. According to Arslan, while these characters can perform well in skilled hands, they have significant flaws that give opponents a clear advantage.

Finally, it's worth noting that seven heroes were relegated to the trash tier. Harshly but clearly, Arslan Ash believes Bandai Namco needs to buff them. Otherwise, players who main these characters will have no chance of competing successfully in competitions.
