IShowSpeed’s latest IRL stream took a dangerous turn when police swarmed his KFC visit on May 5 after someone falsely reported that he was armed. What started as a lighthearted fast food stream quickly escalated when sirens blared and multiple officers arrived, detaining people and surrounding the area.
Just moments before, Speed and Cuffem walked into a nearby hair salon. That’s when the chaos began. As he stood outside talking to police, Speed vented to his audience, saying this kind of thing happens almost every time he streams in public.
The cops told Speed they’d received a call about someone jumping on the counter and waving a gun. While he did admit to the former — something he often does during chaotic streams — there was no weapon involved. When an officer asked why he was on the counter, Speed simply replied, “Because the food was good,” confusing the police even more.
Eventually, after showing the stream and proving it was all content, Speed was allowed to leave. But swatting is no joke. These fake emergency calls have led to real tragedies, and the FBI recently promised to crack down on such threats, especially as influencers face increasing risks.
