Mount and Blade 2 is an expansive game that can consume hundreds of hours. If you suddenly don't have that much time or you are replaying the main plot second time, you can use cheats and commands to speed up the process. We'll explain how to do this.
The codes listed here will only work for PC. For Xbox, PS4, and PS5, different cheats apply, which we will list in another article.
How to enter cheats in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord
To enter cheats, you'll need the cheat console, also known as developer mode. It's activated as follows:
- Go to the folder "~/Documents/Mount and Blade II Bannerlord/Configs"
- Find the file "engine_config.txt"
- Open this file in a text editor - "Notepad" or Notepad++
- Find the line "cheat_mode = 0" and change the 0 to 1
- Once in the game, press the key combination "Ctrl" + "~"
- This will bring up the console, into which you need to type the command "cheatmenu"
- Now you can use cheats
- To disable cheat mode, summon the console and enter "nocheatmenu"
All cheats for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord
- Ctrl + H — heal your hero;
- Ctrl + Shift + H — heal your horse;
- Ctrl + F3 — damage to yourself;
- Ctrl + Space — speed up time on the map;
- Ctrl + X — add 1000 XP;
- Ctrl + W — enhance weapon skills;
- Ctrl + X on the inventory screen — get 1000 gold;
- Ctrl + Alt + F4 — knock out all enemy fighters;
- Ctrl + Shift + F4 — knock out all visible enemy fighters;
- Ctrl + Shift + F6 — knock out all your troops;
- Ctrl + F6 — knock out one enemy fighter;
- Ctrl + F4 — stun enemies after a few hits;
- Ctrl + T — reveal everything on the world map except hideouts;
- Ctrl + L — level up;
- Ctrl + Left Click on a location on the map — teleport to the chosen place;
- Ctrl + F9 — slow down time;
- Ctrl + F11 — freeze time;
- Ctrl + Left Click on a unit — upgrade all available units based on the selected one.
Console commands for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord
Console commands are also available through the developer console. They partially replicate the functionality of cheats:
- campaign.add_gold_to_hero [x] — add x amount of money
- campaign.add_influence [x] — add x amount of influence
- campaign.add_renown_to_clan [x] — add x amount of renown
- campaign.give_troops help — display the names of all troop types
- campaign.give_troops [x] [y] — add troops of a certain type to your party, where x is the troop id in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, and y is the number of units
- campaign.list_active_quests — display a list of available quests
- campaign.complete_active_quest — complete the current quest
- campaign.cancel_active_quest — cancel the current quest
- campaign.conceive_child — conceive a child (if the hero is unmarried, the mother of the child will be chosen randomly)
