About God of War (2018)
God of War (2018) is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 console. The game is based on the mythology of Norse gods and features Kratos, a former Greek god of war, who now resides in Midgard with his young son Atreus. The game follows Kratos and Atreus on their journey to fulfill a promise to their deceased wife/mother by scattering her ashes atop the highest peak in all of the realms.
The game provides players with an immersive cinematic experience, featuring a dynamic camera that stays close to the characters throughout the game, creating a sense of intimacy between the player and characters. The combat system has changed drastically since the previous games in the series, trading the hack-and-slash mechanics for a more deliberate and strategic approach. Kratos uses a magical axe named "Leviathan" as his main weapon, which can be thrown and retrieved by the player, allowing for a variety of combos and attacks. Atreus also has the ability to assist Kratos in combat, shooting arrows at enemies and providing some clever quips along the way.
God of War (2018) features breathtaking visuals that display the beauty of the game's world, including the different realms, such as Helheim and Niflheim. The game's storytelling is also exceptional, with a well-written script and memorable characters developing throughout Kratos and Atreus' journey. Players will encounter various obstacles and puzzles that require them to use both characters' abilities to progress through the game.
In summary, God of War (2018) is a masterful action-adventure game that successfully reinvents the series' gameplay, provides an engaging story with memorable characters, and boasts stunning visuals that immerse players in the Norse mythology world. Players who enjoy cinematic experiences, engaging storytelling, and challenging gameplay will love God of War (2018).
