Fans of the series need not doubt—the legendary Kratos will soon find himself at the center of events once more.

During his latest stream, Grubb clarified that developers are working not on a full-fledged sequel to God of War: Ragnarök, but rather on a separate, more intimate story. The setting is particularly intriguing—events will unfold in Ancient Greece, allowing for a deeper exploration of the protagonist's past. The game is expected to launch later this year, though the exact release date remains under wraps. Notably, the project is not being developed by the core Sony Santa Monica team—key figures like Cory Barlog are not directly involved in development, serving instead in an advisory capacity.

I was explicitly told that this year we'll get a God of War spin-off with Kratos as the protagonist.
