Yesterday we told you about an unpleasant incident that happened in CS:GO. Because of one exploit it became possible to leak IP addresses and other private data. Valve found out about the problem and promised to deal with it, but the danger still remains.

However, players don't want to wait much longer. Life in CS:GO should not stop because of this problem, so the famous dataminer Aquarius gave some tips on how to secure your data.

There are 2 things you need to do in total:

1. Go to your Steam settings > In-Game > scroll all the way down and make sure you set Steam Networking to Never. This can save you from the Lobby IP leak exploit.

2. Make sure you have "cl_hideserverip" set to 1 in your config/exec. This will prevent the game from displaying your public IP in the console when loading offline matches

After that, you don't have to worry about your data being leaked. They will remain inaccessible to hackers, and you can continue to enjoy the gameplay of your favorite game.
