We've mentioned before that CS2 players have experienced a drop in FPS. During the beta-testing phase, Counter-Strike 2 turned out to be a demanding game. However, the shooter community found a way to achieve decent FPS even on very weak PCs or laptops.
A Counter-Strike tuning specialist, known in the community as Aysafromnazareth, created a unique configuration file. These settings can't be achieved with the game's standard tools.
Here's how to install the configuration file by Aysafromnazareth:
- Download the configuration file cs2video.txt from Google Drive via the provided link.
- Locate the config folder in the CS:GO directory. It's usually found at Steam\userdata\your Steam ID\730\local\cfg.
- Open the current cs2video.txt configuration file and copy the value in the DeviceID field.
- Paste the copied value into the DeviceID field of the downloaded cs2video.txt configuration file to make it compatible with your device. Also, specify your screen resolution in the appropriate fields. Save the changes.
- Replace the current cs2video.txt configuration file with the one you downloaded in the game's config directory from step #2.
- After replacing the cs2video.txt configuration file, don't make any changes to the game's image settings, as the parameters will be reset and will require reinstallation.
The article also compares graphics with Aysafromnazareth's configuration file to low settings using the game's built-in tools.
