Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 just pulled off something rare for a single-player game. On Sunday, May 4, the game hit a new peak on Steam — 145,063 concurrent players. That’s not just a good number; it actually beat its launch weekend high, which usually doesn’t happen with solo adventures like this.

Typically, single-player games see their biggest player counts during their first weekend. After that, the hype settles down and numbers start to dip. But Expedition 33 did the opposite, picking up steam (literally) in its second weekend and drawing in even more players.

Only a few other big titles have pulled this off — like Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, and Black Myth: Wukong. That puts Expedition 33 in pretty elite company.

Just three days after release, the developers at Sandfall Interactive announced over one million copies sold. Since then, they haven’t shared updated numbers, but with this second weekend boost, it’s safe to say interest is still high.
