The soundtrack for Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 just hit it big, reaching number one on Billboard’s weekly classical album chart. The game’s developers proudly shared the news on social media, celebrating this unexpected success for a fantasy RPG soundtrack. Even more impressively, it also topped the classical crossover chart, which includes music blending orchestral sounds with pop, rock, and electronic styles.

This achievement isn't just about hype—Billboard uses a system that combines streaming numbers, sales, and individual track stats. And in less than two weeks since its release, the soundtrack has already been streamed 18 million times. That’s huge for a game score, especially one that’s over eight hours long and packed with 154 tracks.

What’s even cooler is that the music was made by Lorien Testard, a composer who had no prior experience in gaming. Testard said he was thrilled to be part of the game and thanked everyone who played it, calling it a dream come true for the team at Sandfall Interactive.

Expedition 33 is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass. With a score above 90 on review aggregators, it’s already a contender for the GOTY title.
