Sandfall Interactive has shared an impressive sales milestone for Clair Obscur Expedition 33: over 2 million copies sold within just 12 days of launch. While the studio didn’t break down figures by platform, the performance is still remarkable for an independently developed RPG.

According to the developers, the game reached 500,000 copies sold within the first 24 hours. By the third day, sales had already climbed to 1 million units. Since then, the pace has slowed somewhat, but the momentum remains strong.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Hits 2 Million Sales in Less Than Two WeeksImage: steamcommunity.comClair Obscur Expedition 33 is currently holding the top spot on Metacritic for 2025, which further reflects its broad acclaim. Developed over a period of five years, the project began taking shape in 2020 and was completed by a relatively small team.

The game’s exact development budget hasn’t been disclosed, but given the size of the team—only a few dozen developers—it’s safe to say the title has likely turned a profit. Recently, the game also surpassed 145,000 concurrent players on Steam, setting a new personal record beyond its launch weekend peak.
