Fortnite's third season of Chapter 5, called "Wrecked!", kicked off on May 24. The major event with rewards will last nearly three months until August 16. A new location called "Wasteland" has appeared in the south of the map. This area is occupied by a hostile group whose members roam around in heavily modified vehicles. Players will have to face off against them.

One of the key features of the "Wrecked" season is the introduction of nitro bombs and nitro barrels. They allow players to boost vehicles and characters, granting increased movement speed, knockback power to send enemies flying, and other bonuses. The game has also added combat modifications and a repair kit with tools for enhancing vehicles. Additionally, players now have the ability to take control of one of two massive battle buses that patrol the island with an escort.

The island will feature a variety of weapons, including guns from previous seasons, as well as brand-new additions like the nitro knucks and the bombsploder.

Eight skins are included in the season's battle pass, among them the T-60 power armor from the Fallout franchise. Magneto's appearance from the X-Men universe will be added later in July. Epic Games has released a gameplay trailer for the update and shared artwork showcasing locations, enemies, and skins. The entire season is infused with the spirit of the Fallout games and the Mad Max universe.
