For a long time, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 were waiting for items from the hit game to appear in Fortnite—a unique platform known for its numerous crossovers. So, when the partnership finally happened, most fans were excited.
The item set turned out to be very cool, but some fans were disappointed that the male version of the protagonist, V, was missing. Fans speculated and compared different marketing strategies from CD Projekt Red over the past few years. However, the reality turned out to be simpler.
Patrick Mills, the person responsible for the Cyberpunk 2077 lore, was also the one who made the final decision. Amid all the buzz, Mills decided to clarify his stance. There were two reasons for his choice: first, the bundle format was meant to include only two characters, and one of them had to be Johnny Silverhand. So, there was no room for two versions of V. Since Johnny is male, choosing the female version of V seemed like a logical decision, plus Mills personally preferred that version a bit more.
So, it wasn’t a conspiracy—just pure pragmatism. And we congratulate Keanu Reeves on his second Fortnite skin; earlier, Epic Games had added John Wick to the game.
