It seems that Larian Studios still intends to support BG3 for a long time with new updates. These updates will not only smooth out the game's flaws but also introduce new elements, which may include new playable races.

Confirmation came during a live broadcast on the official Xbox channel, during which writer Adam Smith reported that the studio has further plans regarding updates for Baldur's Gate 3.

Obviously, Larian Studios wants to maintain the utmost confidentiality regarding what surprises might await players. For example, as happened with the last update, which added a new epilogue. When asked if there are plans to add playable races, Smith replied that there are no specific plans in development. However, this is not a scenario he rules out.

A few days ago, a version of Baldur's Gate 3 for Xbox Series X|S appeared, which is now available in the Xbox store. In the first months of 2024, the game will also be released in a physical Deluxe Edition for consoles and PC, with a wealth of content and at a good price.
