Blizzard has announced that a crossover event between Overwatch 2 and the MMORPG World of Warcraft will take place very soon. The event will be held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the popular multiplayer RPG and will begin on September 17, 2024.

According to the trailer, players will have access to at least four new skins for Reinhardt, Widowmaker, Torbjörn, and Zenyatta. More details about the event will be revealed closer to its release. But for now, the most interesting part of the trailer is Sylvanas skin for the Widowmaker. In the trailer she fires a bow instead of a sniper rifle. Considering that Overwatch has Hanzo in it, this decision raises some questions.

This isn’t the first time we've seen a crossover between various Blizzard franchises. The original Overwatch featured the Blizzard World map, which included numerous references to the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo universes. Fans are hoping for a more extensive integration this time around, which would be exciting for long-time Blizzard supporters.
