Yesterday Blizzard unveiled the trailer for Stadium - a new mode coming to OW2. The format features 5v5 matches (1 tank, 2 DPS and 2 supports per team), 7 rounds, and a new talent system.
Alongside the gameplay reveal, developers shared key details:
- The ranking system will be completely separate from Competitive mode
- Seasonal Updates - Stadium ratings will reset every season as new heroes, abilities and talents get added (launch will feature a limited hero pool)
- Players can earn epic skins for each role's heroes plus Competitive Points to unlock weapon charms
- Special Season 1 Reward - The unique epic Juno skin for players who reach All-Star rank in any role

The community has already criticized the rewards - not only for being epic-tier rather than legendary, but also for being underwhelming compared to existing options. Players are also questioning whether this new mode will further split the already declining playerbase, especially since the game already has two other ranked modes alongside Quick Play.

Another concern is whether the development team has enough resources to handle balancing - not just for the new mode, but also for the dual-talent system affecting all 42 existing heroes (with more characters planned).
