It might seem that, given Minecraft’s popularity, there can’t be anything left that players don’t already know. Nevertheless, there are plenty of lesser-known aspects. In this article, we’ll break down what Minecraft’s adventure mode is, why it’s needed, how it differs from survival mode, and what pros and cons it has.

What is adventure mode in Minecraft?
Adventure mode is an alternative game mode on a map pre-created by a single player or multiple players, with significant restrictions on interacting with world blocks. You can’t simply demolish an obstructing building or change the landscape, which also means you can’t gather resources in the usual way. To do so, you need special items with certain tags, which are typically only held by, for example, server admins rather than every player. This is primarily so no one can ruin the server’s map or interfere with other players’ gameplay.

Thus, this mode is mainly focused on combat, travel, and exploration rather than construction.
Why is adventure mode necessary?
Adventure mode in Minecraft has a number of advantages over survival mode. These can offer new experiences from the game. Among these advantages, the following points stand out:
First, you can obtain all the necessary resources in a village, where you’ll also find an iron golem to protect you.
Second, you can play in exactly the world you want because you can customize the map to your liking.

Third, you can test out your castle designs for survival mode without being distracted by resource gathering, constant attacks, and so on. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t die in adventure mode. You still have enemies to fight, and you still need to watch your character’s hunger level.
Fourth, for example, if you rarely play but enjoy playing with others, you don’t need to worry about your house being destroyed while you’re offline.

Fifth, adventure mode is an excellent testing ground for trying out various mods and modpacks that alter the game.
Sixth, you don’t need to worry about building your own base! That leaves more time to explore the map!
How does adventure mode work?
If you look into it, Minecraft adventure mode doesn’t differ too much from the usual survival mode.
Players can still interact with the world, fight hostile mobs, and use friendly mobs. Most importantly, they can explore the world and build their own adventure. Players also have to monitor health and hunger levels—dying from hunger or taking too much damage is not disabled in adventure mode.

However, you won’t be able to build or break blocks freely. This restriction doesn’t apply to all blocks or all maps. Some maps include blocks that can be broken or placed, and those blocks have special tags, as do the tools used to interact with them (for example, the "NBT" tag).
Thanks to these restrictions, adventure maps can feature amazing worlds and puzzles. Some players create their own adventure maps inspired by other computer games, movies, or books, letting you feel like you’re inside your favorite work.

Additionally, this type of protection helps prevent item duplication (obtaining copies of valuable items through bugs or exploits) and griefing (deliberately killing weaker players).
Many adventure-mode maps aren’t designed for solo play but for playing with friends or random players. Many dungeons can only be completed together, whether you’re fighting monsters or solving puzzles.

It all depends on your platform.
For Minecraft Java (on Windows, Linux, Mac), you need to follow these steps:

Adventure mode in Minecraft is, in fact, one of the many reasons why Minecraft is so popular, one of the reasons why there are so many mods, and why its map-making community flourishes. It’s a breath of fresh air for those who find standard survival lacking.
Well, I hope I’ve managed to show you a new side of Minecraft and answer questions like, "What is Minecraft adventure mode?", "Why is it needed?" and "How do you play it?"
All that remains is to decide which mode suits you best and which mode you want to play the most—or maybe, like me, you’ll play each mode in turn. In any case, I wish you a great game, and see you in the cubic world of Minecraft!
