Since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, a huge number of diverse mods have been created for the game. We've compiled a list of the best modifications so everyone can find something interesting for themselves. The list includes only free options that work with the latest version of the game from the Nexus Mods website.

Most improvements work thanks to other mods listed in the Requirements section. Here’s a list of what’s required most often: redscript, Cyber Engine Tweaks, Codeware, TweakXL, ArchiveXL, Mod Settings, Input Loader, Equipment-EX, RedData, RedFileSystem, Material and Texture Override. For convenience, you can install this basic set right away.

Real Vendor Names

We'll start with a small but very useful map change. Often in the game, you might forget the location of a specific bar, shop, or other establishment. On the map, when hovering over icons, information appears about what they are, but without specifics. Real Vendor Names solves this issue by adding the names to the info.

Now you don’t need to drive around the entire city looking for your favorite diner or club! Just hover over the icons that might represent the place you're searching for, and the problem is solved.

Reset Attributes Always Available - Redscript

Reset Attributes Always Available - Redscript helps players who want to easily experiment with builds. In update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077, the skill system was drastically changed, and new abilities for different playstyles were added. Along with this, players were given a one-time opportunity to reset skills to redistribute upgrades under the new conditions. This mod allows you to do this without any limitations.

Now you can easily rebuild your character, find out which of the possible builds is the strongest or best suits your playstyle. You won’t need to replay the game or even reload saves. Just reset your skills, redistribute points, test abilities, and jump straight into the next build.

Weathermancer - Weather Select Menu

Weathermancer - Weather Select Menu is a handy option for creating the desired atmosphere or taking screenshots in Cyberpunk 2077. Is it pouring rain outside? A few clicks, and soon the clouds will be replaced by the sun. The modification allows you to control the weather in detail through a special menu. You can choose when the weather will change and what type it will shift to from the provided list.

Available weather conditions:

  • sunny;
  • rain;
  • fog;
  • pollution;
  • toxic rain;
  • sandstorm;
  • light clouds;
  • cloudy;
  • heavy clouds;
  • squat morning (Like rain but not blue);
  • deep blue;
  • courier clouds;
  • cloudy morning;
  • rainy night (rainy but not cloudy);
  • light rain.

This feature can also fix the bug when the weather doesn't change. Take control of nature!

Always First Equip

With Always First Equip, you can configure when and how often your character will draw their weapon with a special animation. There's a whole separate menu of settings for this: whether the animation will trigger during combat, the likelihood of the animation appearing, and many other options.

Why is this necessary? As the mod’s author put it, "it's just cool". More than 500,000 gamers agreed and installed it. After all, if you have a beautiful weapon, why not admire it more often?

Simple Flashlight

This modification adds the ability to use a flashlight. It’s strange that this function wasn’t included in the game from the beginning, given how many unlit areas there are in Night City. Dark alleys and other places often contain something valuable, but without light, it’s hard to tell what it is. A flashlight, assigned to a separate button, perfectly solves this problem.

You can also customize the item. In the special menu, there’s an option to choose light colors and other parameters.

Fast Travel From Anywhere 2 Anywhere

The fast travel system in Cyberpunk 2077 is the same as in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, where teleportation happens between signposts. In both projects, a lot of time is wasted walking back and forth between the same locations.

Fast Travel From Anywhere 2 Anywhere significantly simplifies traveling through Night City. Don’t like having to go to the metro every time to teleport to a desired location? Now all you need to do is hold down the left mouse button on the icon on the map, and you’ll be there.

Stock Market and News System

Ever wanted to try your hand at stock trading? Then the Stock Market and News System was made for you. This mod allows you to buy and sell company shares through a computer. The stock prices can significantly fluctuate based on the player's actions and quest completions.

There are also news articles available to read online. Just like in real life, you can use these to evaluate the current corporate landscape and strategize your stock market moves.

Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project

This mod makes the game sharper and more beautiful. If your computer has enough video memory, this mod noticeably improves the graphics. It replaces many in-game assets with more detailed and less blurry versions.

Since this is a first-person game, high-quality textures will greatly enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Responsive NPCs

This utility significantly changes NPC behavior, making it more realistic and logical. Carrying heavy weapons causes panic in crowds. In general, walking around with a gun in hand increases the chances of being detected by the police. Pedestrians have also become smarter and now try to avoid oncoming cars.

If your character walks onto the street naked, people will comment on it and quickly distance themselves. This is one of those essential features that you didn't know you needed.

Car Modification Shop

Car enthusiasts rejoice! Car Modification Shop allows you to upgrade vehicles. In a specific location in the city, if you drive up with a car or motorcycle, the mod’s interface appears. Here, you can purchase and install upgrades that enhance your vehicle's performance.

The upgrades are divided into categories and come with quality gradations, allowing for progression in upgrading each car and motorcycle.

Virtual Atelier

Virtual Atelier is a platform that allows other modders to add virtual shops into the game. Additionally, players can preview clothes on their characters before buying them in stores, as well as view item models in the inventory.

All other mods that aim to add new clothes to the game use this modification. Since everyone has different tastes and there are many clothing mods and stores, we highlight this mod so you can add whatever you like to your game.

Survival System

Survival System makes Cyberpunk 2077 much more immersive. It adds hunger, thirst, and fatigue meters. To replenish them, you’ll need to eat, drink, and sleep in a bed. It changes all food, alcohol, and drinks in the game, including their weight and cost. The weight of all consumables and ammunition is also increased.

These changes significantly raise the game’s difficulty, lengthening its playtime. However, this approach greatly enhances immersion. Conveniently, the mod’s settings allow you to adjust all the changes it introduces.

Lizzie's Braindances

Lizzie's Braindances is one of those things that should have been in the game from the start, but for some reason, it wasn’t. It adds a catalog of braindances to Lizzie's Bar.

In these braindances, you can find yourself in various places and situations with nearly any character from Cyberpunk 2077. These can include romantic scenes or hangouts on the Moon. Yes, the latter is a reference to Lucy’s dream from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. It’s a great way to relax and spend your hard-earned eurodollars.

Appearance Change Unlocker - Character Preset Manager

This modification allows you to create and save character appearance presets, as well as unlock all customization options in the mirror in your apartment.

With this mod, you can upload other people's character presets or share your own. It’s a very useful feature that helps gamers find mods with fantastic characters and enjoy playing as them.

Stealthrunner - Stealth Gameplay Expansion

This improvement adds a new skill tree focused on stealth gameplay. It includes entirely new abilities, such as pickpocketing. Missions also gain additional objectives, with rewards given for completing them.

It’s one of the rare mods that truly changes gameplay, making it worthy of a high ranking in the mod list.

The popularity of Cyberpunk 2077 remains strong, thanks in part to the excellent modding community. Much like with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a lot of interesting content is being created even with minimal tools. Once those tools are improved, we might even see new quests and locations, just as is currently happening with The Witcher.
