Quarterfinals of League of Legends World Championship 2024 are now in the books, and we know the names of four teams who will keep fighting for being number one and lifting the Summoners' Cup..

There were many surprises, especially if we look at the Pick 'em challenge stats. Less than a quarter of fans believed in Weibo Gaming, as they delivered a huge upset over their compatriots LNG Esports. However, you can explain that most of the people don't know internal Chinese dynamics, as Weibo, for example, already defeated LNG in the LPL Summer playoffs.

The more interesting upset (from the terms of pick'em) is Bilibili Gaming triumphing over HLE. People seemed to forget how BLG finished second in Mid-Season Invitational. Now, the Chinese team is gaining more momentum and 3:1 victory will certainly give a confidence boost.

However, both of these upsets would have bleaked if FlyQuest could win either Map 4 or 5 of their match against Gen.G Esports. The Korean team is a heavy favorite to win the whole tournament, yet in map 1 they were stomped. The composition with Seraphine was a huge surprise for the MSI champions. FlyQuest were able to win two maps, but to reach the semifinals three map points are needed.

The only game that was one-sided was T1 vs. Top Esports. Faker and his team simply demolished opponents with a confident clean sweep. However, the Chinese buff will not work against Gen.G, as this match will probably lead to a very dramatic match next Sunday.

In the semifinals, two teams from LPL and two teams from LCK will meet each other. That means that we're guaranteed to have LPL vs. LCK finals. Here is the schedule for the remaining matches of Worlds 2024:

Semifinals:

  • October 26 - WBG vs. BLG
  • October 27 - T1 vs. GEN

Finals:

  • November 2, WBG/BLG vs. T1/GEN
