Street Fighter legend GamerBee just pulled off something huge — he got signed to major org Flash Wolves at the age of 46. That makes him the oldest pro ever to join a big esports team, and it’s a pretty big deal in a scene where most players retire before they hit 30.
Fighting games like Street Fighter have always been a bit different from other esports. While games like CS2 and League have some oldies too, the situation in the FGC is different, as the game complex and welcoming community makes franchises like Street Fighter home to veterans. Daigo’s still playing at 43, and Hayao won big at the EVO Awards back at 42.
Now, GamerBee is still grinding in SF6 (even though his prime successes are mostly associated with the number four of the series). With Flash Wolves backing him, he’s hoping 2025 will be his big comeback year.
Flash Wolves, known for their legendary LoL runs and mobile esports dominance, are putting Taiwan back on the map in fighting games. And while the veterans are competing strong, new blood like 15-year-old Blaz is rising fast — he was the runner-up of the latest SF6 World Championship.
