We're weeks away before the Season 3, yet it is still important to know the state of the game. And who knows the meta better than the top players? EVO Champion Punk has released his Street Fighter 6 tier list for Season 2. It gives us a solid look at how the current meta is shaping up before big changes hit.
According to Punk, S-tier is the most crowded. This means that the game is currently pretty well balanced, and Capcom is doing a great job.
In A tier, the most notable addition is Ryu. Ryu in particular has seen a popularity boost after Blaz broke through to the top during Capcom Cup 11.
At the bottom in D tier the EVO Champion placed three characters. Punk has been especially critical of Jamie, saying that as long as his best tools rely on drinking, he won't be competitively viable. Unfortunately, this is perhaps the only big miscalculation of the design and balance team.

Currently, you still have a couple of weeks to get the best out of Season 2. Let's hope Capcom won't ruin the feeling of the game, like Tekken Project unfortunately did it with Tekken 8.
