EVO 2024 became the biggest event in FGC history, with its flagship Street Fighter 6 tournament attracting a record number of players. Despite the wide range of player skill levels, EVO is a good indicator of the meta characters.

Eventhubs compiled statistics on the characters used by the top 256 players at EVO. Notably, all characters were represented at this level, although the difference between the most popular (Ken) and the least popular (Ryu) was elevenfold (22 players versus 2, respectively).

Besides Ken, the top three most popular characters also included JP and Akuma, although neither of the latter two appeared in the top sixteen. In the slightly less popular tier, M. Bison (17), Ed (15), Luke (14), and Chun-Li (13) followed the leading trio. Cammy was chosen by ten players in the top 256 in addition to the champion Punk.

This data can be used to better understand popular matchups and properly set priorities in preparation.
