There is no event more prestigious in the fighting game community as the EVO. While we have the Esports World Cup with huge prize pools and World Championships of each separate game, EVO is like a big Olympiad for the FGC. The biggest stars across all the popular games are competing on one big stage.
This year, the Evolution Championship Series will occur on August 1-3 in Las Vegas, NV. While the whole weekend might seem more than enough, only eight titles will be present on the main stage. Today, we learned the full line-up:
- Street Fighter 6
- Tekken 8
- Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes
- Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2
All the biggest titles are here. We even have the newest Fatal Fury which is yet to be released (currently, the launch day is April 25). Some of you might be surprised by MvC2, but EVO has a tradition of showcasing a throwback game, and MvC2 celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
There also will be other games, but we expect the full list of the competition to be revealed on February 15, as we have three unannounced spots.
