You may call this a big tradition, but for quite some time Activision holds beta tests for each new Call of Duty game a couple of months before its release. While developers gain valuable data, the players also get the vibes from the game when spending their time in multiplayer.

For me, this beta test has been a key factor in the decision of buying the game versus skipping it. (For example, I liked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) but absolutely did not have fun with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3). While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will move to the Game Pass, it is still an important tradition, and now we have some details about it.

The Xbox website has published the schedule for the testing phases of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, as noted by Charlie Intel.

  • Early access: August 30 to September 4
  • Open testing: September 6 to 9

Who gets early access? Those who pre-ordered the game as well as subscribers to the higher tiers of Game Pass.

Black Ops 6 beta will be the first ever to start simultaneously on all platforms, noted The Verge journalist Tom Warren. For previous installments of the shooter, there were exclusive tests  on PlayStation or Xbox consoles.
