Bohemia Interactive studio has decided it's time to stop selling the Livonia map DLC for DayZ and instead gift it to all owners of the original game. The developers announced this decision in a post on the official website of the survival action game. This move is expected to help attract new players and renew interest from those who have left the game.
With the release of the 1.25 update on the stable server branch, all DayZ owners will gain access to the "Livonia" map — previously, the DLC had to be purchased separately. Since Livonia will now be included in the standard edition, the price of DayZ will increase, but the overall cost will be lower than the full bundle before the merge. At the time of publication, the game itself can be purchased for $22.49 with a 50% discount, with the regular price being $44.99.
The Livonia map was added to DayZ in 2019, five years after the game's early access release and one year after the 1.0 version launch. Unlike the 225 sq. km "Chernarus", "Livonia" covers 163 sq. km. It's a forested map without access to the sea, based on the real landscape of the Czech Republic.
