In an unexpected move, Rockstar Games has released a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, shortly after announcing that the game’s release would be pushed to May 26, 2026. Fans were bracing for disappointment following the delay announcement—but Rockstar made up for it quickly.
The new trailer delves deeper into the storyline, introducing more about the game’s two main protagonists: Jason and Lucia. Once small-time criminals, they’re now caught in a far-reaching conspiracy that threatens the entire state of Leonida, based in the neon-soaked Vice City.
The footage portrays the pair trying to pull off what appears to be a straightforward heist—until everything goes wrong. The fallout sends them on the run through the sun-drenched, perilous streets of America’s most dangerous fictional metropolis.
Rockstar noted in the trailer description that one bad job changes everything, leaving the duo with no choice but to rely entirely on each other. Though the delay was disappointing to many, the studio explained it was essential for polishing the experience to the level fans expect from a new GTA.
