Observant viewers have noticed that Rockstar appears to be bringing back some beloved mechanics from GTA: San Andreas - specifically the weight gain system and multiple fighting styles.

In certain trailer frames, Jason (one of the main protagonists) appears noticeably more muscular, while in other scenes he looks slightly less toned. Later footage shows him working out at an open-air gym. This strongly suggests the return of physique changes based on character activity, just as it was implemented in GTA: SA. Insiders had previously reported that Rockstar was experimenting with similar systems for the new game.

This makes it highly probable that the weight loss/gain mechanics from GTA: SA will also return. Another scene in the new trailer shows Jason looking somewhat thinner. While this could be due to camera angles and lighting, it's logical that with workout mechanics in place, characters would also be able to gain/lose weight - exactly like CJ could.

The second protagonist Lucia has also drawn attention. The trailer and screenshots show her participating in underground fights and boxing training sessions. Her agility and technique suggest the possible return of multiple fighting styles. In San Andreas, players could learn boxing, muay thai, and taekwondo from different trainers.

Fans have long criticized recent series installments for their simplistic melee combat. It appears that with GTA 6, the studio has listened to feedback and significantly refined this aspect of gameplay.
