In a recent episode of his podcast Koji10, legendary game designer Hideo Kojima casually brought up Grand Theft Auto VI, not knowing that the game’s release would soon be delayed to May 2026. He explained that publishers were nervous about launching games around the same time as GTA 6, since a fall release would pretty much dominate the market and leave little room for other titles to shine.
Kojima also shared some thoughts on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is locked in for release on June 26, 2025. Interestingly, he originally wanted to launch it in September instead. That would’ve given the team more breathing room and allowed them to add extra content. But even with the June date, the game is nearly done. One stable, bug-free build is finished, and the team is now fixing minor issues.
Still, it's almost impossible to avoid all bugs, especially with such a large open world. Players might run into strange spots, weird grass behavior, or tiny glitches, but nothing that ruins the game. Kojima’s goal is to make sure everything feels solid before launch — even if perfection is hard to reach.
