Players can choose from several challenging perks, each bringing its own set of complications:

  • A "sore back" perk reduces the maximum weight Henricus can carry and increases the risk of injury while foraging for herbs and mushrooms. 
  • The "heavy footsteps" perk causes shoes to wear out faster and makes the character's steps louder, affecting stealth. 
  • The "dimwit" perk slows experience gain by 20%, with the developers humorously emphasizing this drawback twice in the perk description. 
  • The "sweaty" perk causes the main character to become dirtier and smellier more quickly, impacting social interactions.
  • The "ugly mug" perk raises the likelihood of random encounters turning into difficult fights, as enemies will no longer surrender and fight until the end.
