Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Hardcore Mode Discovered and Activated by Players

It’s no secret that Warhorse Studios is working on a new hardcore difficulty mode for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While an interim solution from modders has been available, some enthusiasts have already uncovered an official hardcore mode hidden within the game.

Currently, this hardcore mode is not accessible to the average player without some technical know-how. To enable it, players need to add «-devmode» to the game’s properties in Steam, which launches the developer console. From there, entering the command «wh_sys_GameModeSelecting = 1» will unlock the option to choose between normal and hardcore modes when starting a new game.

However, it’s important to note that this version of the hardcore mode may still be in its early stages. Players who decide to use these console commands might encounter bugs, crashes, or performance issues. Those who want to experience the polished version should wait for the official release, expected sometime in spring, according to Warhorse Studios’ roadmap following the game’s launch.

If that’s not enough, Warhorse Studios has confirmed three DLC expansions for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, all set to release in 2025. The first, titled Brushes with Death, is scheduled for summer, followed by Legacy of the Forge in autumn, and Mysteria Ecclesia in winter. Exact details such as pricing, content, and release dates remain undisclosed, but more information is expected closer to their launch.
