A new co-op shooter titled Mycopunk has been announced by Devolver Digital and developer Pigeons at Play, offering a fresh twist on the sci-fi action genre. The game follows a team of outdated robots sent on dangerous missions to uncover and stop a mysterious fungal invasion spreading across the galaxy. The game is currently in development for PC, with a playable demo already available on Steam.

Set in a dystopian future filled with malfunctioning machines and eerie alien growths, Mycopunk casts players as the New Atlas Response Team — a group of worn-out bots given one last shot at relevance. Hired by the powerful and shadowy SAXON Corporation, these mechanical misfits are deployed to investigate a devastating fungal outbreak that threatens entire planets. As they fight through contaminated zones teeming with grotesque enemies, players will begin to question what really caused this catastrophe, who might be behind it, and just how much the corporation knows — and isn’t telling.

The gameplay blends fast-paced first-person shooting with squad-based strategy, where teamwork and weapon variety play a crucial role in surviving each mission. Players will blast through enemy hordes, explore ruined outposts overtaken by bioluminescent fungi, and uncover hidden clues about the origin of the infestation. Along the way, they can collect and upgrade gear, unlock new abilities, and customize their robotic squad members to suit different combat roles.

While an official release date has not yet been announced, fans can try out a hands-on demo right now via Steam. This early preview gives players a chance to experience the chaotic action and atmospheric design that Mycopunk brings to the table.

With its unique setting, stylized visuals, and focus on cooperative play, the game looks to offer something different in the crowded FPS space. Backed by Devolver Digital’s track record of supporting bold indie projects, Mycopunk could become a standout title for fans of story-driven shooters and sci-fi mysteries alike.
