Silent Hill f is a game where we can expect some really messed up stuff. It became the first game in the series to receive an 18+ rating in Japan due to graphic violence, including dismemberment and burning of people. The ESRB also flagged its shocking content, and publisher Konami officially recommended that players take breaks if they experience discomfort. In Australia, however, the game failed to pass certification.
The Australian Classification Board (ACB) assigned the game an "RC" ("Refused Classification") rating, effectively banning its sale without modifications. No specific reasons were given—unlike other cases, the ACB did not publish an explanation, instead directing inquiries to their feedback system for further details.
Most likely, the horror title was denied a classification due to its extreme violence and depictions of drug use, which were highlighted by both the ESRB and the game's Steam page.
Another point of discussion was the stance of the developers: in official materials, they emphasized that they are not responsible for the psychological impact of the game and advised players to seek support if needed.
While Silent Hill f does not yet have an official release date, it is expected very soon, as games are not typically submitted for certification in their early stages.
